So as you all know, Bahrain has decided to replace its Pearl roundabout with a new traffic light. They have already destroyed the place completely as they do not wish to have a constant reminder of the uprisings .. However, what I find intriguing is why would they go that far? It's just s a roundabout .. Apart from the aesthetics, I understand that this pearl roundabout is actually quite symbolic to the history if the GCC as it was constructed in honor of their first session (if I understand correctly.)
I just think there was absolutely no need for the roundabout to be completely destroyed.
