Its been a couple of weeks since Mohammed Al-Sudairi's fascinating presentation on Shiites in Gulf societies.
I came across this article online and it reminded me of our discussion on Shiite unity. The article shows that Iraqi Shiites are in support of those in Bahrain. And across the Middle East similar demonstrations are taking place (like Saudi Arabia and Lebanon). This makes me wonder how do people identify themselves in the Gulf. Nationalism takes a back seat when it comes to religion. How can gulf societies overcome their struggle of creating unity? Just something to ponder...
